Munster, which includes Glenmore and Leisure Bay, is situated south of the Kandandhlovu River at the southernmost tip of Kwazulu Natal. It is a well established area with a high quality coastal environment in a tranquil setting. The beaches have good direct access and offer excellent and safe bathing, protected by shark nets while lifeguards are on duty during school holidays. These beaches also provide good fishing spots. The town has a constituted local authority with basic emergency and security services. Service infrastructure includes a tarred and gravel road network, water and electricity, and oxidation ponds. The range of quality recreation facilities includes a well run sports complex offering bowls, squash, tennis and table tennis and it’s strategic location offers good access to higher order facilities in neighbouring towns and the Wild Coast.
